At Tennyson Road Primary School we believe an engaging and exciting curriculum is vital to ensure maximum learning by all of our pupils.
Our curriculum is taught in half termly topics, where most of our lessons will link to a key theme/topic. We use the 'Creative Learning Journey' to plan our creative curriculum, this is a fantastic resource as staff are able to link activities and skills directly to the National Curriculum-thus ensuring all learning objectives are covered thoroughly during a child's time at Tennyson Road Primary School.
We are delighted to be a 'Partner School' with Rising Stars.
We are highly resourced and use a huge amount of Rising Stars materials to plan and teach our lessons. For example, 'Switched on' Computing and Science are two resources that have really enhanced our teaching and learning in these subjects. We were also extremely excited to be one of the first schools to use the 'Rising Stars Mathematics' programme. This has been invaluable in the resourcing and teaching of maths. As a School, Tennyson Road Primary chooses not to rely on mass produced 'schemes of work'. However, once we saw the quality and content of the Maths programme we couldn't wait to start dipping into sections and using it with our pupils. We love the flexibility of it and it has certainly help us raise the profile of maths even further in our school.
